Esports Team Twente Dashboard: An Esports Replay Analysis Web App

Esports Team Twente is one of the official student teams at the University of Twente. They deal with competitive gaming, also known as esports, with teams for various games that compete in tournaments. They also deal with esports research and data analysis for video games. Currently, their state of the art is made up of various standalone Python scripts that you can run on game replays and get statistics for them or heatmaps. Unfortunately, this isn't very intuitive, and it requires some prerequisite knowledge from coaches or players to run these scripts. Furthermore, the way they can view these statistics is through the command line which doesn't display information in a neat and tidy way. For this Bachelor's graduation design project, we have proposed and implemented a web app based dashboard with a backend that allows for easy data analysis pipeline. This dashboard can be used for team bookkeeping, viewing match history along with statistics displayed in a user-friendly manner, and the ability to upload match replays that will get processed through data analysis scripts.

  • CS: Design Project

The CS Design Project module is one of the two final modules of the Bachelor. In the design component of this module, students show that they master the entire design trajectory, from the first informal specification of requirements by a client to the delivery and presentation of a well-documented working product. Projects are submitted by clients from either inside or outside the University. Students perform the project in groups of 3-5 students under the supervision of a teacher from the Department of Computer Science. The supervisor is also the one who assesses the process and products of the group. Project deliverables include a project proposal, a design report, a presentation and a poster.
